Detroit Rock City
Welcome to Detroit! The Motor City is a very large city that has many different areas to explore. 15 years ago when I first started visiting even the downtown area was empty and unnerving in the daytime. Now there is a whole new business district and many of the outlying areas have been cleared. Detroit changed for the better after bankruptcy in 2013 and is home to not only auto workers but tech founders and has a fantastic arts scene where most people still live and work. I have some examples of my IR photography here and the images are a mix of digital and film. I have a separate section here featuring Detroit graffiti including a few more sections. The "MIES" section is also almost all from Lafayette park.
