Graffiti in Ontario

If you are not from Ontario, you might assume that there is only graffiti in larger cities like Toronto and its suburbs, like Durham or Mississauga. This is false! Even smaller cities like Hamilton, Windsor, and London have healthy scenes. Hamilton has an impressive graffiti/ street art show every year, while Toronto has nothing going on festival-wise. Smaller towns like Peterborough and Belleville also have a few writers painting, as do places like Sudbury, Kingston, and Ottawa. These are also not emerging scenes, but have been around for at least two decades. Wherever you might find yourself in Ontario, take a look around for graffiti anywhere; you can find large underpasses painted in the middle of nowhere and along the tracks, laneways, under bridges, and drainage channels. You will find something even out in the sticks.
